0t--marionette dozing

Seems like a stunningly unproductive process. Guess I've been spoiled by looking at modern bulk handling.

To say nothing of the safety issues. Why didn't they plant the dozers on the tops of the piles in the first place? Crane won't reach?

poor mans dragline crane? They made steam powered tractors for cable plowing in wet fields. I just saw the video on here where the Russians buried a dozer in coal to demonstrate the window glass.

I've seen them load oceangoing freighters at the gulf with clamshells from a barge. They unloaded most of the barge before they put the little dozer in to clean up the corners. They also put skidsteers on the oceangoing freighters to push the grain to the edges and level it out. Then they put plywood and tarp on top of the leveled grain and loaded a different grain on top.

My brother told me C&H sugar would hoist a little skid steer into the ships hold to shovel the sugar to a conveyer for unloading.
