12 months ago USS Nimitz ---CVN 68--entered maintenance withdrawal from service at naval base Kitsap--a few miles to my north

the pallet jack pictured here was removed from Nimitz ordnance service
it incorporates bespoke build features typically found in military material handling assets--builder of this unit---Wesley International of Georgia

--specifics of this implement include:

derating from 10,000 lb non-mil to 6000 lb mil spec
frame thickness of 0.325 in 8 inch c-channel hot rolled alloy
walking beam forward bogies--3 inch diameter urethane load rollers
tie down weldments on A frame

empty service weight about twice non-mil counterpart

I buy these units to chop--tines are adapted for fork extensions
which serve my needs better than longer forks in tight aisles/shipping containers
