    Default Impressive bridge crane lift

Just a pair of 750 ton bridge cranes working together on a 1200 ton lift and place. The whole ITER project is some impressive stuff.

What are they making? Is that the shop of the final building around the project. Whats with all the missing tiles on the wall. I hope that is not where the lift banged into the wall on the way up.

An experimental nuclear fusion reactor. Big one.

A very interesting thing about the ITER project, IMO, is that they don't even have all the necessary science and engineering yet. The assumption is that by the time they need this-and-that mechanism, it will have been invented. Pretty gutsy to spend €22 billion ($65 billion according to US DOE) on something that you don't even know how it's going to work yet.

    Regards.
