Hey kids,

Has anyone successfully added EIA to a T32 controlled machine?

We've done it on T2/3 machines through the power of the hive-mind that is this forum, surely we can achieve it on the T32?

Cheers,
Trav

Is this for your MP630 T32-6?
I have a MP620 T32-6 with EIA, I thought that was standard on a T32 machine.

Yeah - it's not highlighted in the options, and when i start a new program there's only Mazatrol as an option.

I believe you are correct.
Some things would need a new board installed, but quite a few options are parameter driven.
Last I checked the EIA option for the T32 was around $2k but it's been a while.
Couldn't tell you if that was for them to tell me a parameter change or a board.

so O13 was able to be changed - and that seemed to get rid of my ladder diagnostic option (bengt's is 32 - mine is 36, so bit 3 on O13 might be ladder diag option) however it would just revert back when i reset the machine.

O19 - which is 101 for bengt and 68 for me would't allow me to change it at all - even in the 1131 mode, so not sure what's up with that.

The other difference was O29 - mine being 1 and Bengt's being 0, didn't try changing that one.

Any idea of perhaps another parameter i need to change to allow me to change O19?

Knowing what they're like there is probably another secret code you need to get into it. Try rubbing your belly clockwise, your head ccw while standing on one leg on a bungy cord in the middle of the amazon floating on a popcorn canoe. Let us know if that works lol

I would try that... but i had a knee reco like 3 months ago, so i probably shouldn't be standing on 1 leg too much :P

Anyone had more thoughts on this?

Another thing that would be great is Synchronous tapping - i mean, the machine has 2 full c axis, and can sync the heads with each other, so surely it has the hardware/software to do sync tapping.

some small progress i made just now!

so I KIND OF got EIA happening on my machine, at least i made it look like it's there temporarily.

It would appear that OP19 bit 1 enables the EIA option and bit 6 is the background option.

My standard option params:

If i put in 33 to OP19 i get this in my option screen and this in my new program screen, but pressing eia does nothing.

I can't put any number higher than 63 into the op19 line, so I can't even put my own original back in.

All of these things only stay until i reset the machine, then they reset to my originals.

you might be onto something there Bengt.

Here's my diag screen (with op19 set to 33 so that EIA comes up.)

and this is my mem card.

It would be interesting to compare what both of our ROM B eproms have on them.

So i just spoke to a mate about this who was a mazak tech from way back, and he said he reckons the lower option parameters couldn't be changed - he said it actually reads them at startup from a ROM.

He did also tell me about a way you can write the parameters to EEPROM (privilage mode - diag - diag memory - EEPROM - press down and change EEPROM to 1 for write and 2 for road - START) The main thing that worries me about doing this is that i can't actually write my value for OP19 because it wont accept it, so if this stuffs something up i wont be able to change it back.

He also said that he thinks basically if you have ANY options on the T32, its very likely that it is just a parameter change needed to get the others enabled (which is good to hear) The M32 has a separate mem card for EIA and 3d.

So what i'm thinking is it might be best to find out what's on those 2nd row of ROMs and see if we can find the difference between your EIA enabled one and my non EIA enabled one.
