My son has done a deal on one of these with a M32 control,I had a quick look at it yesterday and it seems ok but would have preferred the same style of toolchange as the VQC we have.It has the system and parameter discs and a full set of manuals. It came out of an aerospace factory and appears to have been looked after although its just as it stopped production, covered in cuttings.
I was surprised to see a machine that size using linear guides. Was this a cost cutting exercise by Mazak or a way to get higher traverse rates?
Do the slides work ok as opposed to a boxway machine?
Anyone got anything good or bad to say about them?
It's a 3150 rpm or thereabouts spindle.
No tooling with it but I picked up 100 new and nearly new CAT50 TG100 collet chucks and sidelock holders last week for about $800
