Afternoon,

Does anyone know if you can you drip feed a large program to a Mazak SMART control from a USB?

Thanks.

You can't do that from a USB. You can put bigger programs on a compact flash card and run in tape mode to "drip feed". This is provided you have the IC Card Running option #42 on your machine. The program would need to be in a folder called MCICPROG on the card for the control to read it in tape mode.

There is also option #54 Ethernet running for true drip feeding over the network. In this case you need a host computer running FTP to act as the server.

Thanks CNC Hacker, much appreciated. Worked a treat. :)
