I've having trouble understanding why the integrex II 100sy/200sy are relatively so cheap compared to other 5/6 axis lathes. or even the integrex III

I read somewhere that the controller for the Integrex II only allow 3 axes at a time, but does this mean you can still do any 3 axes you require? or is the c-axis only incremental and wont do complex continuous motion?

do these machines hold pretty tight tolerances, or are they always going to be a bit looser than a more conventional 2 axis lathe?

one final question: what does the s and y signify?

S is subspindle. Y is Y axis. The older Intergrexes will not let you machine in the B axis. I mean that the B axis is only for positioning. They are not super rigid, but ore very good older machines.

so it can machine in C?
does the III have b axis machining?

besides newer faster stiffer, and b axis machining, are there any other reasons the II are only around 60k? seams very low compaired to other companies

Thanks for the help
