MAZAK 640 floppy drive problems
Hello all I recently picked up 3 mazak cnc mills from auction. For the life of me I cannot get a program on or off of the floppy drive. Every time I try I get a Alarm 557 (designated directory not found.) I do not have RS-232 at this time so the floppy is my go to for the moment. The program is a Mastercam program with a EIA extension. I am not sure if the drive has been turned off by a parameter or just a wrong procedure. Being around HAAS for the last 15 plus years has boxed me in a little with the operations of different controls. Any help or procedures would he me greatly

I don't know about the 640 but on earlier controllers like m32 etc the floppy on the controller is only for system floppys not saving programs. Like i said i don't know if these are the same or not. I have just purchased a mutiplex with the 640 control but havent got it running yet so i can't try it. Have you formatted the floppys to mazak?

program has to be in a folder in root directory and not nested in the folders or siting on the disk not in a folder.

dont format on machine. on computer just put your program in folder "1234" that is in root directory. data i/o, floppy, dir select, use arrows to highlight "1234", contents, start. it should show your program on right hand side. the hit load, start.
