Hello Everyone,
I searched for awhile and couldn't find a good answer. Looking at replacing out old lathe with a new QT100 or QT200. The only reason we are looking at the 200 is because comes with a 8" Chuck (we use from time to time). It appears the QT100 has plenty of swing for a larger chuck. Does anyone have one and has use an 8"? Let me know!
Thanks!

Unless you're only planning on doing small work or you're really tight on space, you're usually better off going with the 200 size. You should be able to swing an 8" chuck on the 100, but it's still not as flexible and it'll have lower torque. Plus you need to find one to adapt to the smaller spindle nose, which means a smaller thru hole for bar stock. The 100's are also a lot shorter bed length than the 200, which may or may not be a problem. 100 is 12 or 16" between centers, 200 is 20 or 40".
