Hello,

We are looking at installing a used Mazak Variaxis 500, mid 2000's, pallet changer. Will these run without an isolated slab and anchored? We have a VCU-400 5 axis, ya, those have to be laged but they have cool little tabs that attached to the pads. We do not run the Mazaks at 100% rapids, we do 50% after warm-up. The Variaxis of that period seem to be built like a brick s/h, I anm thinking they will run fine if you drop them on the floor? Our slab is close to 6" thick.
Let me know what works please?

Bolt them down, cost is minimal doing it now compared to when you have do it down the road if you have issues. no one has ever complain "man, bolting this machine down has really cause some issues".
