I have a Mazak VCN 700D-II with the Mazatrol Matrix Nexus control, and we have over 1000 programs in both the standard and backup program directories. would there be a way to create other program directories that the Mazatrol software would recognize? I'm wanting to have separate directories of the different part types we run. Thanks in advance for any help yall can provide!

No way to do that on a Matrix control unfortunately. Smooth controls allow you to create project folders for organization to do what you're talking about.

Consider using a large USB drive instead of the built-in backup directory. You can make all the directories you want.

you could do it using the data I/o and an external or network drive. When you want to load a new part program you would go to data i/o it would look at the drive/ location you tell it to. each part would have a separate folder with its program(s) inside that you could then load to machine. would keep the number of programs on the machine to a minimum

I use a usb with different folders, works well.
