Hi, Just acquired our first CNC lathe a nice used Mazak QT-20 with bar feeder. Curious if there are any specific items that need to be packaged well for transport she's going approx 300 miles to her new home.

Wiring - its currently setup on 460v transformer, looks like seperate little cabinet, but manual/tag state 200V. I'm guessing swapping it over to lower voltage won't be difficult..or require purchase of anything else???

Also looking for reasonably priced Riggers in the Louisville, KY area.

New to the mazak world so any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

if its the original mazak transformer tapping it for 3 phase 230 will be easy enough
a little qt20 should ride pretty good with minimal packaging
sounds obvious but make sure all the doors are bolted shut correctly and the swing doors are gorilla taped shut
if its an old t2 long bed, blocking the turret against the tailbody with a handfull of 4x's wouldn't hurt

good luck
mazak is top shelf stuff
you'll love it

Thanks for reply. Yes original Mazak transformer. Plan on lots of tape and plastic wrap along with double tarping just in case. Weather this time of year is a bit sketchy.

i chunk of plywood taped over the screen would stop any flying rocks from ruining your trip
there is already a protection plastic but belt and suspenders is my favorite
