qt 450 isse with absolute position

I have a QUICK TURN NEXUS 450-II. I also have a qt250 nexus.
when I zero the qt250 my absolute is 0(zero)in the X axis as it should be. in the position field is also zero.
this machine works fine.

the QUICK TURN NEXUS 450-II using zero return absolute is zero as it should be.
position field is whatever tool is pulled ups offset. I can manually zero the position.
however when I bring the X down and zero return again the offset is back in the position instead of zero.

this seems to affect the face off. for example
using a similar program to the one below it will turn the O.D. to 7.06. However on the faceoff that goes to 4.3 my position says 4.3 however my tool is actually way below that about an inch.
something isn't jiving in the absolute. I'm not sure why the tool offset keeps showing up in home position yet the absolute is zero.

I have a tech in house right now and he is also confused by this.
has to be a parameter setting or something of that nature.

If anyone can understand my issue please help. Tech cost a fortune.
