I am just getting into re-aligning my 1995 QT28N after re-assembling the turret. (For some more background, check out why I had to do this here). I have found some pretty helpful threads:

My questions still are:
- After I get the taper pins out of the curvic coupling, do I tighten the mounting bolts back to their torque spec BEFORE I align it? I have seen some pictures of some awfully long torque arms, and it made me curious to know why the alignment was so difficult...
- Should I just assume that the taper pins in both the turret AND the X-Axis casting are shot and need removed, or is it safe to start at the outer face of the turret without removing it from the spline shaft in order to try and save time?
