What is involved in removing a spindle cartridge from a SQT 18-MS. 1993 model. What equipment is necessary to make it happen? How much those things weigh?

if you are talking about pulling an entire integrated spindle housing (which I think this machine is)
it's not a big deal nuts bolts and pry bars.
once you yank all the sheet metal off the front (doors and all) they lift out fairly easy
not sure on weight but there not super heavy maybe 5 or 6 hundred, probly less
if you are talking about opening up that cartridge and doing bearings
no clue

Are you talking about the headstock or just the round part. Guy at Mazak said Headstock about 1500 lbs and its better to send that whole thing than just the spindle. He said that will save alignment issues later on during reinstall. Whats your take on that?

I was talking about the round part
as far as shipping whole head stock?
seems like a long way to go but
I dont argue with manufacturers recommendations very often
I'd make sure you know just how they want it
are we talking including all the c-axis stuff?
the PLG?
I'd get a printout from them
even with all that
it's just nuts and bolts as far as I can remember
just make pictures of everything before you touch a screw

The common threading for bottom bracket shells is called English. The left-side cup is a right-hand thread direction, which tightens clockwise and removes counterclockwise myprepaidcenter
