I'm working trying to do a turret alignment after an operator brought up the wrong tool and crashed the lathe. It was about .014" below center. I removed the turret cover and loosened all but one cap screw on the inside circle.... I couldn't loosen the last one caused the hex is stripped out. So its come down to having to remove the turret so I can drill it out... or what ever happens when I get to that point. The machine has live tooling and I need to remove the milling head. I've taken off the clamping ring for the wedge, removed the wires and proxes, air line and lube lines. Removed the belt, timing gear and bearing... but cant get the milling head to come out. I called Mazak just to make sure I'm not missing something and was told I'm not using a big enough hammer. I'm thinking about buying a hydraulic ram to push it out. Anyone try this or have experience removing the milling head? I cant believe its in there that tight. Thanks...
