I used to live and work about 60 miles east of there between San Andreas and Mountain Ranch, Stockton had the scrap yard (Sims) and there was a surplus place right there by the port of Stockton, however I have been reformed and will not be planning any trips there in the forseeable future, in reality I don't plan to make any trips back to California period, not even to see the homless camps under the freeways.

Might be you should find a way out as you don't sound too fond.

Mark Twain said something like the coldest winter he ever spent was a summer in San Francisco, funny how that place can be cold and foggy when a few miles in any direction it can be 80-100 at the same time

Are they just "under"? I ceased even routing to Asia OVER Kalifonikyah airspace ages ago.

Rather remember it as it was.

Also not risk a shootdown by Pretty-Boy-Gavin's Kali ANG F15's .... put on standby for riot-control.

Recall "election" should be entertaining. From a safe-enough DISTANCE!

Laguna Seca - was driving a race there once, and had to go buy a jacket in the track merch store - because while it was about 80F at the top of the corkscrew, it was just above freezing down in the pits.

Stockton 99, pretty track, they had small pizzas as well as hot dogs, had to pit in the middle, it was nowhere near as hot as Madera and just about as fast. Seriously banked. Good times were had by all.

We ran the very last race at Ascot - Stan Fox won - I think it's still an empty field ? The Agajanians sold their ass for a quarter, for nothing.

    Lots of that going around

A while back when I was heading th the Sims there they were knocking down houses by the dozen between the crosstown freeway and the scrapyard as the druggies were squatting in them and the crime was too high to police, looks like they are just as happy in their new shanty town?
    Where are you heading?

This kind of (lack of) thinking amazes me.

Where did they think those people were going to go ? Someplace nicer, probably ? And fuck that up ? Like when they tore down the International Hotel in San Francisco, similar reason. Now those people live on the street.

Well that's a hell of an improvement !

I guess Idaho doesn't have this yet, eh kustomizer ?

Um......maybe get a fucking JOB like everybody else.

If you can stop drinking and drugging for 30 days, you can get a CDL and make around $20.00 an hour. Problem solved.

Oh, I'm sure there's going to be the typical "racist", "Fascist", cold hearted, non-feeling buulshit thown out. I'm TIRED of waking u[p at 3:45 every morning and going to WORK so I can support these worthless, lazy fucks.

Looking at Gardnerville and Minden. Have a place in Palm Desert I spend time at, don’t want to live there year round. Just want a small shop anymore. Absolutely become out of hand down here anymore.

We are 5 miles from the village of North Fork, 160 people if I remember right, to the best of my knowledge we have one homeless man. He lives in his camper pickup and does odd jobs to support himself and his dog. I understand the southern part of the state has some as well as Missoula, 120 miles north. Part of why we came here, get away from that kind of crap.

Right. You wouldn't hire them, so why do you think anyone else would ? I'm not feeling sorry for anyone, just being realistic. Unless you grow the balls to shoot anyone who "doesn't measure up" then you have to deal with them.

Imo, it's better to deal with them in their own concentrated slum instead of spread all over creation. San Francisco's experience with razing the shitbox housing was an eye-opener .... if you had eyes.

But obviously "realistic" doesn't apply to you virtuous types, with predictable results.

Big news, we had a plumber by today and we now have running water to the faucet out front of the shop, now I can get the 4 foot square metal box with a water tank atop of it out of the shop. While he was under the house hooking it up I had him relocate the shut off valve and the shop shut off into a closet in the garage along with a valve where we can blow the sprinkler water out at the end of the season without first emptying out the master closet and climbing under the house. We are excited! We got some floor back in the shop.

    Good ON YAH!

I have NEVER understood.. why folks *tolerate* valves in hard to reach locations when plumbing to a convenient - and frost-free - location is so easy!

'Nuther thing..my filters.. are located right over a laundry tub. No more fussing about with spills when change-cartridge time cometh.

Nor do I filter gardening hose, bath, or toilet water. Bit of Copper, the filtered water hits its own special taps, kitchen & bathroom vanity. Only.

Moved to a new board mostly.

This thread is more than a short story about your move at this point, so it was time to move to the "shop threads" board and update the title.

Now you haf'ta deal with Chuck, but I don't think that he'll bother you too much.

Well, we did get moved out of California and will be a while moving in to Idaho.
We are in the flight path of some all flat black fighter planes, they chase each other by here in the good weather. I jumped up and ran outside when I heard the first one and got this pic of the second, they are all 3 the same pic just more zoom. He is the spec about 1/3 the way from the flag to the sun
