Moping a grind and seal concrete floor is easy to do and it doesn't stain which is nice.

New floor and i suppose new machines yet to come.....
I disagree. Would much rather save the money. I had (per my bosses orders) 3500ft of concrete ground/polished/sealed at my last real job.
It cost $6K. (I can't imagine how much it costs to do a HomeDepot) I hated that floor!
You say doesn't stain. I say "bullshit". It stains like mad. Super high maintenance. Expensive products to properly care for it.
Slippery as snot with any kind of liquid on it. In a machine-shop, that floor was terrible.

What do people have against bare concrete anyways?

Can't attest to the others, but slippery - yeah!
I've even heard of some shops spec'ing special anti-slip shoes.

Everything else is s'posed to be "safety first", until it comes to the floor for some reason?

I’ve known chuck for a long time. I remember running production in that machine. Chuck took me up to your shop about a year ago. Terrible shame to lose all that equipment. It was an amazing place

Way to go Jess. You seem to have a great attitude and work ethic.

Obviously the snow came in shortly after the fire. Is this causing any other problems for everybody?

Never paid much attention to the "rising like a phoenix from the ashes" metaphor. Seems you're doing it -- respect and best wishes to you.

The snow was farther up north -we usually like to go wheelin to grab our tree , This year it was needed for a solid mental state .

We are not in the mood to sit around and wonder what could be.

Several things. Among others, it "dusts". Forever, basically.

The fines are abrasive, can be caustic, are unsightly and MOST unwanted where retail inventory is stacked, and not allowed at all where foodstuffs are involved.

That said, it doesn't cost the entire Earth to have safer coatings underfoot for a more modest sized shop than the slickery ones as require ride-on maintenance machines in the vast expanses as Big Box use.
