Cool. Do you balance the shafts in house?

I remember having custom shafts made for PTOs on trucks and tractors. You gave them the length and they welded it up and balanced it.

    I too did a 4wd conversion to an '81 when I was 21.
That is one job to doo only once! (unless it's something worthwhile - like a Cameo through '72!)

Those model years have been gone from our area for many decades.
One of the perks for living in your area - no doubt.

In Franklin NC were I grew up someone did that to an older Nova...I dont remember how big the tires were, they were not tractor tires but they were pretty big. I have heard rumors that it is still around someplace up there. Dont know if that is true or just one of those rumors...

    LOL!

    Cameo - not Camaro!

But Fords generally have bigger wheel wells that make big tires so much easier to stuff w/o getting crazy high.

However - yes - there have been car bodies set up on truck rolling chassis all too many times.
It was cool the first time, novelty the second, yawn the third, and downright sickening by the 4th.

Now Bob Chandler - now he was (IS) the man! (for the original anyhow...)

Kinda tough to grow corn in that area eh Reed?

Country of origin is always a shell game. My guess is that they are doing what Milltronics and a handful of others do, they buy the components from all over the world (USA, Taiwan, China, Japan, Europe, etc) and the bring it here and assemble it into a machine. They don't "make" it here in the sense that they don't pour the castings or do the machining here.

Haas is actually doing their own casting (not in house, but in North America) and machining, and so did Fadal and Cincinnati back in the day. Companies like Hurco and Dynapath are buying a Taiwan or China machine outright, shipping the whole thing over, and putting their control on it.

So, maybe the question is more or what does "Made in USA" really mean.

It depends on the kind of slip that you choose really , Some weld cast iron together and call it good because its easy .
