Awfull glad I was able to see him about one yr ago now. He did an impressive job for his age.

I just hope that it will still be a good year for the roses.

I guess I will link this last one yet. The song sure sounds good, but I cringe at the message.
    The Gospel According to Jones

Jones can be seen riding a lawnmower (A Jones joke - sorta) in this video of Hanks.
(Along with anybody who was anybody 30 yrs ago)

I have a pic of him from the concert on the wallpaper of my cell phone.
I can't hardly even make it out, but I know what it is.
It may not look too bad if I download it. I was in the 4th row...

Well, this sorta happened this week aggin....

Forgot to order some material on Thursday that I needed for the weekend, so I had to make a run to town on Friday afternoon.

Not gotten out of the shop much this year at all, and I had a "double live" album to still listen to disk 2 yet, that a buddy gave me to listen to.
It's a modern metal band from EU. I don't doo metal - other than maybe Queensryche or ???
So I made it a point to run a lazer accrost it while I was out.
    It's a really good recording - if'n y'all like metal.

So, once that was done and I was able to hold my head high and say that I did in fact give the whole thing a listen to, I didn't dawdle to jerk it out when it came back around to track1 aggin.

In this case, just as I had done when the first disk finished some months ago, I had to water it down with something like - that other Williams boy (not Hank, nor Lefty) or in this case - Tom T Hall.

    This was Friday afternoon.
Only to hear on the radio last night that he died - on Friday.

I'm beginin' to wonder if it may be safer for others if I just listen to members of the 27 club for a while?

Now - just passing this along, while I was scripting that last post, Fed-Ex showed up with an electric motor that I need for a hydraulic unit that I bought from Grainger.

I did not order it shipped with any specific requirements, it just showed up - on Sunday morning!
Good grief, what's this place commin' to?

    Ehhh? Can't take it personal-like.

How about just the folk one has shook hands with as have later up and died?
Before the time of COVID, even. NOBODY gits outta this deal ALIVE.

Whereas.. ever' time you bought the music, you helped put a meal on the table of other folks. How ever tiny a percentage, it was part of a life for 'em. Rest was up to they own selves...

    I'm good wit' dat'

Didn't have any real CHOICE but parental spend at an age we could get Radio Havana or "HCJB" The Voice of the Andes on short-wave in up-holler Lewis County, but not US AM radio.

Irving Berlin, Paul Whiteman, Doris Day & Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby on 78 RPM. John Philip Sousa marches on 33 1/3 RPM?

More than one definition of "poverty?"

Only defense was to learn Spanish!

Downside is that Herb Alpert, Ricardo Valenzuela, or Susana Seivane aside, I can't hardly stand two minutes of their music!

    OTOH...Mariachi bands were not all..

"Last night I dreamed that I passed from the scene
And I went to a place so sublime
Aw, the water was clear and tasted like beer
Then they turned it all into wine (Awww)"

This verse seems so fitting now, I hope that the last part didn't come true .

    It has, sadly.

"Wuhan flu" has my fav English, Scottish, and Irish ales gone scarce, NOVA markets. One supposes they are selling too well to-home to leave surplus enough to export?

But the Argies, Chileans, Portuguese, Spanish, Eyetalians, Sewth Effricans, Oz, & Kiwi still export affordable drinkables, galore.

Now and then I even smuggle-in a French or Kalifornickyan under the trade barrier on kommun-shits goods. Reformed Bulgarians are exporting some nice cheeses and bitchin'-good lower sugar, higher-fruit, preserves, too!

Comes to matters of "belly", not heart .... or having all our taste in our mouths?

We are all whores, at day's end!

Original 1969 session singer was Merry Clayton. Belting out "rape..murder" was way out.
Her story is on the net somewhere.

Nobody died today that I know of yet, but one thing that keeps gitt'n my goat is that Autodesk ad.

I'm telling yuh, and maybe I'm the only one?
But out of the corner of my eye, when this ad pops up, I keep seein' "Tattoo You".
    Anyone else?

    Nice!

Having twins of older CNC’s almost guarantees you can keep both running, as part swapping can allow you to zero-in on a problem pretty quick.

I can’t stand to see machines strapped across the top like that. Sheet metal doesn’t put up much of a fight when Trucker Tom starts ratcheting down.

Well, I have to say, seeing that scares me to drive down the road.

I am sure that there is freight shipped all day long that really isn't tied down to my satisfaction, but ... these are just setting there with 4" straps over the top of sheet metal, setting on alum deck. No header in sight...

When I hauled one home from the other side of Pennsylvania last year, I knew that there were no tie points, and I was prepared to block it all in with 6bys on 3 sides, THEN I threw a few 4" straps over the top - for looks as much as anything.

I see coils laying on the road and in the ditches now and aggin*. Not seen a machine tool crushing a Pinto yet, but still ...
