    Good idea, but the forklift in the shop is BSPP fittings and I only have a few JIC fittings at the moment.

    The hoses were very bad, and needed to be changed anyway.

    Pulled the rad out of this old truck last night.

    Next to find a radiator shop, not too common anymore.

    Looks pretty rough, but was it leaking? I don't have a radiator shop within a reasonable distance anymore. Have to bite the bullet and get a replacement. Some are good, others, not so much. Second replacement radiator in my shop truck has had the top re-soldered 4 or 5 times. Been holding up for nearly a year since last soldering. FWIW, it is very similar to yours, '66 F100 240/300.

    After another half dozen hoses, finished my pressure test of the boom clyinder seals. No leaks, so I put the boom sections together and im about ready to stab the boom back in the truck.

    Putting the two boom sections back together by myself was NOT fun.

    Dag'gum farmers....

    I've done more by myself over the years than with help for sure.
    You just learn other methods.

    Sometimes it takes longer, but I have found that most times that folks [think that they] need their hand held, that the second person does NOT cut the time in 1/2 or less. But sometimes they doo.


    Now, in the case that you pinch fingers on each hand in something, it might be swell to have someone within shouting range...
    But not normally the case....
    (My seester did that in a garage door once. (ONCE!) )

    "once" - whoever came up with the spelling of THAT werd?

    Friend of mine (farmer) was poking around the tailgate latches on his dumptruck trying to figure out why they weren't working when they slammed shut. With his hand inside.

    No cell service, truck idling out in the field, people driving by. Hour and a half he yelled and screamed out there before a relative saw him and drove out. By some miracle, his hand was crushed, but nothing broken.

    He often says how it's better to work alone, but I look around his 300 acres and I see alot of buildings he and I put up. Roofs we did, slabs and foundations we poured.

    King is back up and seems to be fixed.

    Got a 250 3XL screw compressor case in the shop right now. When we finish prepping the rotor bores for coating, im going to put it on the table as a weight test. It weighs just under 17,000 lbs

    Still got alot more to do. But got the boom back in the f800 this afternoon. My help couldn't make it, so put it in by myself. Not a fun job...

    Major milestone to have these seals redone and the boom back in the machine

    Friend of mine, who's a member on here, but not very active.

    Is letting me borrow his brand new 333G for a few days. Has less than 40hrs on it.

    I need a heavier gooseneck. This CTL makes the frame bend when its on this little trailer.

    You could mow down all kinds of things, even small trees. Made a hell of a racket doing that though.

    I have one. I was cutting 4" to 6" trees and them mulching them up.

    I want a 20' batwing for my 1175. Hopefully finish rebuilding the PTO clutch this weekend on it

    Reorganized the hose making stuff. Tired of having the fittings, hose, jacketing, cutter and press in 5 different places.

    430 is getting all new hoses, but im short a few (as usual) so gotta place another hose order Monday, its just money right??

    Started putting 1175 back together, hopefully I dont mess it up. Lots of expensive parts.

    One I get these tractors out. Gonna be getting a container, and moving some long term projects into it for storage. Don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet, but lots of cool new toys coming and I need the shop space.

    So the 100" king i said was done is very much not done. Started galling the bearing as it was running.

    Made a plug so I could sweep the contact face to the centerline of the machine and looks like the vendor didn't align to the fit very well, and lower table bearing is running out about .014 to center.

    Going to have to mill report all component for runout and skim as required and then scrape for contact.

    Made a fixture plate so I can scrape the bearing in without having to have the rest of the table attached.

    I set the bearing up in the 80" today and checked it for runout, I crushpinned the center dummy bushing as it had a bit of run out. Not enough to worry about, but since it was in a lathe already, might as well make it zero.

    Its nice to have access to big machines. Now that I have a bit more manpower, gonna do it all in house rather than send parts out.

    Common term with rotating equipment.

    A true crush pin is a typically brass threaded bolt thats drilled into a turbine or compressor diaphragm radial fit.

    Let's you re-center your parts to rotor centerline. And with an insert on the sealing face you can move things up and down stream. I'll try to find a picture that will explain better.

    But what in calling a crushpin are the small welded areas that you can see me cutting. I have .004 tir on the OD of that dummy bearing, but its on size. I could skim the high, but id make the diameter smaller. I put the tack welds on so I have material to skim and ill be able to remove run out and keep my size.
