Hi, I spend most of my time on the Machine reconditioning forum so please be gentle with me !
I have picked up a Mercer 122 electronic comparator (1980's ?)and am hoping that someone might be able to share a circuit schematic for it or a similar model. I have found an operators manual online and have established that the measurement principle is differential inductance (half-bridge), drive signal 3vp-p at 5kHz. The probe connection is multi-pin unlike the earlier Model 155 which has a 3 pin connector. On uncasing it I have found a charred 22uf tantalum bead cap on the transducer input/output. I do not have a probe for it yet and would not want to plug one in until I have an idea of what else might have caused the bad cap or what it might have taken out.
Thanks
Tony
