I have a Starrett #64 indicator holder bar that has fancy rainbow color case hardening patterns all over it. Did Starrett ever do this to any tools or is this more likely something an owner did to his tools? I only ask because I don't care for it and was going to polish it off, but if it's uncommon I might live with it or pass it on to someone else. It has a prior owners name etched into it (James R. Phillips) and one spot of the coloring wore off too.
