    Mitutoyo sells 1 meter extensions for their bore gage sets. With digital indicators that can put out SPC data to a printer with a foot switch. I used that setup while honing plastic injection barrels up to 9' long. Printed out a report for every inch and held .002" throughout.
    That was in the 90's!

    Might want to truncate it there, lock it, mebbe even make it a "stickey"?

    "Too soon we forget" that custom gaging rigs - as Dorsey and a scant few others still do - apply to LOTS of work, and are still viable services in the marketplace. Stock metrology goods - even with optional extenders, etc - won't ever really cover all possible needs.
