I picked up a used Starrett 252 and a Mitutoyo 543-552A off of ebay. The Starrett is here and in pretty good condition, a little bit of surface rust on one of the feet as well as the dial holder rod, but I'll clean that up. The ways are in good condition which is nice, otherwise no other rust.

The Mitutoyo is due in sometime next week so looking forward to that.

It's going to be a great setup for checking parts, but I don't think it will be quite good enough to see how flat my surface plates are. I have a 2x3' grade b Precision Granit brand plate with some scratches in it. There looks to be a bit of ware in it as well so I'm hopping it's not too warn out. I didn't have any way of checking and the price wasn't too steep so I bought it.

The other plate is in better condition and had recently been certified. It's a 18x24" grade A plate.

I'm rebuilding a bridgeport so really looking forward to using this stuff to help get the mill back into tollernace.

I really should post pictures at some point.
