You could try. You might not find it so easy, a retired Executive began his journey a card carrying United Steelworker's of America brother, and proud of that honest sweaty start, yet today. Never did have a lot of use for ULM as had never earned cuts and calluses. Still don't. Miss that, it impairs understanding, life long.
Steel didnt melt we Pittsburghians.
We melted steel.
Suspect "one day over a jar" you and I might find we had more in common than not... yah never really know on "the internet".
Too narrow a slice of a larger life. For those as HAVE such, anyway.
Poor Gordo seems a might short-rationed, but that shouldn't be an "entitlement" claim check on the rest of the world.
So now PM is doing "Social Worker" duty?
Whatever works...

Good luck, Gordon. You're qualified on the metrology front and likely (judging from past posts, even on digital calipers) less likely to be adamant in your ways.
Far as I'm concerned your "crime" hasn't been denigrating this country or others, but just being a very frequent poster - often starting threads destined to stir the pot. One would think people would delight in having you do more moderation, less frequent posting?
As for the rest of this thread, it reflects more on those posting. Seems you're a sort of Rorschach test? For what hyper sensitive malady -- I don't know.
As for Mark Rand, he seems a fine fellow. Just not as frequent a poster on QC or the one the site owner chose as moderator.
I would make one request. Please don't delete or edit posts. If a thread gets out of hand, close it. If the same poster continues to end up closing threads due to things like personal attacks (three strikes and you're out?), then consider banning that poster from the metrology form.

Kudos to you, Gordon, for letting this thread remain open. Your posts in this thread are among the few that aren't completely useless.

Ok, I've kept out of this thread and the other one, as it would have been inappropriate (narcissistic???) to post any opinions (present post excepted). I think that folks have had their fun and scratched their collective itches.
I would humbly request that Gordon closes this thread and the other one when he next checks in, so folks can get back to metrology matters.
Regards
Mark

Itches scratching asses. Asses scratching itches. Wotever.
He may as well close the forum, actually, he wants to be true to recent legacy.
Outta here. Real metrology forums exist.
They'll do fine if the best we are going to get towards a salvage job HERE is a notorious troll.

PM has demonstrated enough reserve bouyancy to stay afloat just fine with the odd flooded forum compartment.
But you may be onto sumthin' there....
SMIT wouldn't happen to have a discounted rate-card if the troll has been SUNKEN into his own inanely repetitious arse long enough to lose half his mass to rusticles, would they?

Could someone explain the difference between a "troll" and a poster that post's 40 times in a single day?

Fossil!
Got us TWO Archeotechts in the famly now. Paperless.
Come a loooong way from when I had a client with a major such firm as HIS client wanted to load-up the Hong Kong Gummints 300 CD public record prints of the plans of all major buildings.
Doing good, *BSD server. Until the clown of a site-monkey mirrored a brand-new and BLANK hard drive onto the live data one.... instead of the reverse.
Key element of "metrology" for the next three days was a thermometer.
Suffering tech working round the clock's arse on the hot side to reload all them CD's, his boss a few degrees above zero, Kelvin for all the frost in that office. Fired his ass the SECOND time.
PM ain't the only place as can't always git good help.

I'm going to follow the advice given by PeteM in post #46 and Mark Rand in post #49.
Those that don't find this acceptable are advised to go elsewhere. This forum is about metrology. Start metrology relevant threads, post advice and comments. Those that can't, find other places to post.
