Mitutoyo height gauge

Hello,

I'm searching for a height gauge.
I don't need the accuracy of the 3000+ usd units (I think). I'm searching for something in between and came across the Mitutoyo digital height gauges.
They got an instrumental error of +/- 0,03mm. I'm curious how repeatable they are?
I'm happy if I can measure within 0,03mm.
I would also like to use them as a tool presetter

Repeatability is in the spec, says .01mm

Repeatability accuracy of almost all measuring tools is usually (much) better than the measurement accuracy.

For your intended use you could buy a new 200mm vernier one for €50 and a 300mm digital one for around €250. Not Mitutoyo but easily good enough for what you intend using it for. Same accuracy spec. as Mitutoyo.

The €250 digital height gauges are all import.
Don't know if they work as good as the Mitutoyo...

Unless you're in Japan, Mitutoyo is an import, too...

Haha yes you're right.
I meant China import
All the same height gauges, just sold under different brands.

I've seen it with my own eyes. Mitutoyo parts being made in China. There's no problem with Chinese quality as long as "cheap" isn't your main priority.
