I watched the NYC CNC video of their Koolertron CCD microscope with amusement. And then when Amazon offered me one for $74 delivered, I tumbled and bought one for home.
And guess what they were right this thing is the rockin deal. Come Saturday evening I expect to have it on the end of a NOGA "big boy" and predict these things replacing or at lest supplanting the various AmScope / camera combinations around the production floor at work.
Depth of field is good, resolution and color rendering adequate for doing rework on surface mount electronics. CCD element pretty well protected.
