We do engine work and Sunnen is the industry standard for dial bore gauges. Sunnen doesn't require several different shafts for each diameter range and has a setting fixture which can handle all the usually found engine cylinder diameters. Why does Mitutoyo do it so differently?
Reason I ask, I got a 1"-2.25" Mitutoyo for cheap, but we don't work in those diameters. I expected to be able to buy a few extra anvils and be good to go. Doesn't work that way.
