I just bought my first 10EE. It doesn't have the vertical knob at the end of the bed. I think this is the "leadscrew reverse"? Is not having this a big deal? I'm just a closet machinist so I won't be doing a lot of work on it. Thank you.
No, that machine doesn't have leadscrew reverse. You're fine without it. It's a handy feature if you're doing production threading, but you don't need it for normal stuff.
Thank you. That knob looked sexy but I was hoping it wasn't something I had to have. I'm spending a lot of time researching 10EE's trying to learn them.
It's handy for some operations but not at all necessary. I tend to use it when threading into a blind hole or up to a hard shoulder, makes it so I don't sweat the stop.
