10ee speed control potentiometer mounting on Sidney dc drive lathe

Hey guys,

Quick question. How was the potentiometer mounted for later model lathes?

I posted about a couple 10ee's I picked up from a scrapyard. One was an engish/metric made in 1988 and has the original Sidney solid state dc drive. It did not have the knob for adjusting the speed. The parts diagram from monarch showed it so I assumed at some point it was changed and maybe controlled with a pot in a different location. Here's a pic of the potentiometer housing that a friend sent me for a 1960s lathe he had. The Next pic is where it looks like it would mount on the 1960 lathe I got from the scrap yard and the last pic is what the 1988 lathe looks like. It doesn't have the same mounting set up. Did it change at some point?

Thanks
Jeff

Where you have it checked out where it mounts. I have a 1962 10EE, I just had mine off to replace the pot.

Yeah, I looked at you original lathe pictures and don't really know. This 1962 is my first experience with the 10EE, hopefully others can give more info. Donnie had a 1980s sae/metric lathe and could definitely answer this question for you but I haven't seen him here for a while.
