Matt,
Wow! There's a lot of us wishing we were attending that
auction. Nice find. Looks to be in fantastic condition.
Good on you man.

Yeah, if I can get it for $600 plus $2500 for fuel and hotels I might make out! Just to be sure this trip is financially sound I might need haul some Happy smoke back with me !!

Says it is inch/metric, but the metric thread box looks to be an add on.

Nobody bid on this it’s mine! Lol

It looks like a standard T handle round dial.
There may be a set of transposing gears under the cover on the headstock end.

The "add on" gear box is for back gear or open belt, not metric.

Ok, good to know. Maybe it’ll make a good machine for someone on here or their buddy.

I’m certainly not interested

I don't know when they changed things so that you can't download the pictures.

If we're talking about the box that's been grafted onto the tombstone on the front of the headstock, that has nothing to do with metric threading. That machine appears to have had ELSR (however the carriage isn't right for that). There was probably some sort of issue with the ELSR microswitches in the tombstone and the box is how they repaired it.
