Dunno. Prolly have better odds of finding a Monarch that wears a double-d bra than has any more bore than minimum.

Phew, been a crazy couple of weeks with selling the 13EE, digging out a pair of SIP MP3K jig borers and other stuff out of storage, etc....

    >> A question comes to mind about this 13" lathe having 20 HP with only 15.5 max swing? What was this thing designed to do?
    >> That seems like a lot of ponies to pull such a light of a load
    >> -- spaeth

It seems to have been an attempt to make the ultimate larger toolroom lathe? Defense and tech/R&D seems to have been the target market. Large companies with large budgets bought them for special projects and the government liked turning titanium, superalloys, nuke bomb parts, etc. on them.

    >> Looks like it sold on eBay.
    >> -- TheOldCar

Yep, sold semi-locally to a good home (will be with other Monarchs and Deckels)

    >> I was under the impression that it was the opposite, the 13EE became the 1000EE then progressed to the series 71?
    >> -- Steve in SoCal

That's the impression I am under. 13EE and 1000EE being identical other than 13EE being motor generator and 1000EE having six C16J tubes.

    It's a bit smaller than 2"

And in the process, I found some interesting photos that are completely unrelated but still fun... It's not a 10EE, it's not a 1000EE, and Ive never seen one in the wild... I scanned these from originals, but don't have any background info.
