I was on the fence about whether to post here, or in the Tooling Wanted forum section. Hope Cal doesn't mind. Was thinking 2J collets are a little more relevant with 10ee's, and the regular crowd here might have a little more trust built up.

It might take some of us years to piece together a complete set, so I thought starting a thread that can be found might be handy, verse just contacting a few guys.

I don't personally care if people post other collet styles here. Just my thought was with 2J's being a little pricier, we might all benefit from trading off duplicates to fill holes in sizes others might be missing. My goal is a complete set in 64th's.

I'd suggest posting two lists. One being the sizes of your excess/duplicates. Another for what your missing. As we can't edit, we may need to copy and paste, then edit a new post to update from time to time.

What I have extra/duplicates in 2J : 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 7/16, 33/64, (2) 9/16, 19/32, (2) 11/16, 25/32, 29/32, 59/64, (2) 15/16, (2) 1", 1-1/16, 1-5/64, 1-1/8, (2) 1-3/16, 1-5/16, 1-21-64, (2) 1-3/8.

Sizes I need in 2J : 1/64, 1/32, 3/64, 1/16, 7/32, 11/32, 23/64, 25/64, 29/64, 15/32, 35/64, 21/32, 1-3/32, 1-13/64, 1-7/32, 1-9/32, 1-19/64, 1-23/64.

Side note: All of mine are labeled Hardinge Brand, and hope to keep it symmetrical :D. I know there are some with Monarch stamped on face, no doubt special to some. I'm unsure whether Monarch made them, or sub-contracted to Hardinge though.

I did an inventory of collets last night, I have a 1 3/16 collet!!! The dups I have are all 16ths 32nds or better. I am missing 11 various 64th collets 21/32 and 1 7/32 . These are the 64th collets I am missing 27/64_63/64_1 1/64_1 5/64_1 9/64_1 11/64_1 13/64_1 21/64 and 1 23/64

I would consider trading for the smallest collets 1/64 and 1/32, can say I would ever use them

Steve

Maybe you have an excess of something else you dont mind trading. Maybe an insert type, dead center, who knows, lol. I have of habit of over buying or stocking up when I want something. :D

I would also like to fill gaps in 5C. Trying to go all Hardinge. In 5C I'm missing 11/64, 1/4, 17/64, 19/64, 21/64, 23/64, 13/32, 29/64, 15/32, 33/64, 17/32, 35/64, 9/16, 37/64, 19/32, 39/64, 41/64, 43/64, 47/64, 3/4, 49/64, 25/32, 53/64, 7/8, 57/64, 59/64, 63/64.

Only got one of what you need, the 1-21/64". Hard to see, even with eyes, but it has someones initials lightly inscribed on the fourth leaf where no factory stamping is.

Great, I will send a PM. I sold all my 5C 64th collets on PM a few months ago along with my MT drill bits. I'm letting go of stuff I will never use. I have lots of Monarch parts available. As for tooling, I have several Vidmar drawers full of conventional tooling: carbide tipped, HSS & Cobalt lathe tool blanks, several sizes, HSS milling cutters all diameters, and several Huot drill cabinets full of new US-made drills, both stubs and full length. I don't want to sell it as a lot, but if you need to fill out a set of drill bits just let me know what you need.
