I don't mean hollow spindle sized, but were any of the later units like a 60/61 available with a >2" bore in a 12-15" swing?

My series 90 has a 4.25" bore so I know they did. I think the 612 and 62 series were 2-1/16"

No. The reverse, actually. Swing-for-swing, Monarch were specialists and always one of the absolute stingiest as to through-bore.

Made it easier to do their best work with bearings at useful RPM and long, long ultra-smooth, high-rigidity, high-accuracy lives.

Compare 1940's through 1970's Monarch with L&S "Powerturn".

But.. L&S then also had not one but TWO larger-bore families, same era.
