Has anyone looked at this 10EE on ebay?

It is a square dial, motor generator, DC drive, most likely a 3 hp DC motor. I have two of these and mine are from 1951. The date should be on the nameplate.
" needs motor repair" gives no description of what is needed. It might be repairable or the motor generator may be in bad shape.

If you look at the listing, one of the photos is of the buildplate. Serial #28905, built in Sept. 1946...

Yes, I have looked at this.

If I was in the market I'd roll the dice on the "motor needs work" issue.

Seems like pretty well equipped and not a half bad price

Maybe the chuck has hit the ways and that is why the motor need work.LOL

Looks as if he bought or recycled a D1-3 mounting plate for a new flat back chuck. Then couldn't "get there from here" as to turning the sumbich 'in situ" to fit the chuck's back recess!

"Has motor problems" is a more exalted exit-ramp cop-out than "I hadn't a klew WTF to do next?".

10EE might be a good deal more reliable an investment than its current minder.

They do that. A lot.

:)
