whats up with yours? I've documented 2 different varieties of these, but there may be more. What is your machine?

mine has a few broken wraps and it is causing havoc with starting the machine. My machine is a 1945 MG 10ee
where can i see your description of the two varieties so i can determine which one i need?

Not sure there is any difference to the lowly electrons, so long as it is an "MG" machine, 3 HP "large frame" 670 RPM base, 2400 RPM with 400 Ohm's series into the field - or so the dataplate calls for - UNLESS the motor has the rare 230 V DC field, or even THEN?
In any case, if motor has the common 115 VDC field, colour it "problem solved".
Just did an inventory, I have two of them.
One is on a promise before the aftermath of an accident laid me low AND a "ban" lost me the PM-PM correspondence as to WHOM I had committed it to.
The other one is for-sure spare, PM has my email for those who do not already have it, just click the userid and use the menu feature "Send Email".
The PM-PM box is ALWAYS full. And will be. Too much hassle to empty it.
Whom visits here and does NOT have email, anyway?

PM me your email and I'll send you some info. The two varieties I documented were from an earlier inline 230 VDC exciter and the other was from what I would consider a more conventional 115 VDC piggyback exciter which came out of a 42 ish round dial MG (I forget exactly the year at this moment)

That reminds me that the question had come up in another thread as to whether there were more than two different resistance zones used.
I had "planned" to print-up a "degree wheel" and plot a graph off the two sets still here - both ex 115 VDC "round dial" MG.
Meanwhile, side emails & c., lectrican1 has patched his one with some bits of Copper.
His 10EE now starts from any position, and adjusts speed well-enough.
Some days enlightenment can happen even in a dark room.
