The clutch is between the input pulley and the rest of the machine. Stops the whole machine.

Next question.:how do you reverse the direction of the power feeds?

If CK, lever on right edge of apron works lead screw reverse
Easy to tell if it has lead screw reverse by the big hump on top the QC gear box
Non LSR Monarchs have no hump and the lead screw reverses with a small lever on face on head stock
FEED reverse is the three position lever on apron - you put this same lever in the center or neutral position when cutting threads using half nuts.
Have CK manual scan that seems to email okay at 14MB - if you want to Private Message me that email address. These are very slim affairs for a "manual"
