Im looking at buyong a model 60 Monarch lathe. 20x120 built in 1956. 10 horse spindle motor.

Any idea on the weight of the machine?

For the Series 61 (very similar construction) the brochure lists 8160 pounds for the 48" model and 490 pounds for each additional 2 feet, plus 350 pounds for each additional leg. So maybe 9980 for a 3 leg 120" Series 61 and something very close to that on the Model 60.

My 1957 series 61 is a 16" x 54", and it weighs exactly 10,000 lbs.. A 20 X 120 is going to be significantly higher, probably closer to 14,000 to 15,000 lbs would be my guess. 61's and 60's are very similar.

Lathes were delivered June 10th. Got them positioned in my shop safely. The Monarch came with change gears for metric threading and has a 2nd thread chart for that. Taper attachment too.

The other lathe is a Prentice Brothers lathe. Probably from the teens. Needs some repair. Mainly the shift fork so I can use the four higher spindle speeds.
