For steadyrest and follower, I was thinking I could have 1” thick or thicker plate steel rough cut out with enough for milling final finish/shape and weld on and machine a wider foot for contact with the bedway.
I’ll check out the finger link in a bit, but I have been curious for a while about using a captive precision steel ball for the tips, with slow/manual oil feed.
Surely someone has tried this or maybe it’s a bad idea.
