Hi all,

I own a Monarch 14c toolroom lathe, which is 14X54, and need some info on it. First of all, it was purchased by the US Navy in 1942 and my guess is it sat in the machine room of a ship during the war since it has no perceptible wear on it, just the usual banged up chip pan and flaking paint. I would like to find a factory manual for it with a parts breakdown and operating instructions. Any tips on finding a manual? A PDF download would be fine.

Randy

PS - It has open gearing for the feeds so lubricating oil is constant loss, and very messy. Is this typical for the vintage and can it be improved somehow?

No "how to run them" in Monarch manuals - mostly how to maintain them. All "C" manuals are about the slimmest thing you can imagine

ALL the "C" Monarchs have open feed gearing - spray on tacky gear lube will reduce mess

May find something useful in the way of pubs here

good luck
