Is this a Monarch model A? The spindle looks a bit different. The back gear shaft also looks like it's missing a gear or two.

I'm told there may still be a 3 speed gear box for the lathe in the building I got it from.

Despite being exposed to the weather for who knows how long...

I got the spindle removed easily. The bronze bearing need to be at least honed.

The quick change gearbox is freed up and everything is now turning easily. The tumbler lever is still stuck as of now.

All gears on the end of the lathe spin.

Got the saddle unbolted from the apron. The inside of the apron is rust free.

The list of things still frozen on the lathe are as follows...

The chuck
Tailstock spindle
The back gears are stick to their shaft and won't spin. But the back gear lever will rotate the shaft in and out of engagement.
Lead screw
Feed rod

The lathe swings about 14" over the bed. I'm down to having the lead screw, feed rod, tailstock and back gears to free up.

How does the compound remove from the cross slide?

Any hope of finding a picture of the threading and feed chart?
