Upper two pieces of the pattern are finished, lower two pieces are well on their way...

    Interest noted- thanks.

I hope to have the pattern pieces and core boxes finished this week. Assuming that gets done I'll bring them to the foundry next week.

Looks like a neat project. I thought about getting one flame cut from steel, a castings would be a lot nicer. Put my name in.

Except for some finishing, patterns and core boxes are finished. The foundry will be mounting, gating ect. The plan is to get them to the foundry by the end of next week.

Foundry has everything mounted and ready to go.

They are casting two top arches in every pour.

    Nice!

For my wood I prefer virgin cherry. Is that doable?

    First article.

The foundry will be casting the balance sometime in the next couple weeks. They have a vacation beginning of July. After casting they will go to heat treat for stress relieving. Foundry estimated everything would be finished 2nd or 3rd week of July.

Do you have price for a set of castings? Did you allow enough meat on the bottom casting so that it can be machined down to fit a round-dial?

I'm shooting for $180 a set but it may be $190 with stress relieving.

There *should* be enough meat to machine down for a round-dial.

I got a set of these castings yesterday, and they are nice. The parting line is hardly visible. The finish is also excellent. I took a file to the iron to see how it felt and it is dense and uniform with no apparent hard spots (probably thanks in part to the post cast heat treating). I think they are going to machine very nicely.

They match the Monarch shape except for the size, and they are cored in a very similar manner. If you didn't know, you would be hard pressed to swear these didn't come from Monarch.

I'm sure there are practical and quicker ways to get a big steady on your 10ee, but if you are a Monarch aficionado and have a weak spot for original accessories, or at least ones that look and function like originals, these are really good and will fit right in. I'm really happy with these, so thanks a lot.

    Tim

They will fit in a medium flat rate box.
