Moldering away in North Houston. About 17,000 Lbs with the not-so-long bed. Bed is 31 1/2" wide and 19" deep. I like the hand wheel - they must of got tired of the effort to move the carriage manually:D

I wonder if that 28" four jaw is STEEL with the drilled holes?

Hi John,
Slightly older than mine (2-1945), but with a later serial number. Gotta love wartime production.

If I've asked you this before, forgive me, but any estimate of the weight of my little girl?

Older brochure - add some for the 11 years and normal war time beefing up - and quite a bit for the length

http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/2103/17527.pdf

Last page says 12,300 and 700 for each two feet additional length (yours is ten feet longer than their base length of 60" between centers)

So at least 15,800 plus the adders suggested above - if we guess 10%, that's another 1600 LBS.

Could be more than 10% in 11 years (1934 publication linked above)
