There is something else to watch out for on the Okumas. If you use the M53/G71, you have to assign a new G71 for every canned cycle. The G71 is actually modal. So, if you use the M53 without specifying a value for G71, the control will take the last know value for G71. That may be a good number, but it also could be a really bad number.
Just a heads up. I used the G0 trick on all the Okumas.

Well I'm happy to report that now that I got the canned cycles working the way I wanted and this morning finished the post processor, we're finally knocking out some parts. The job we're running now used to take 9:20 on the Hurco now its down to 5:30. Poor kid was buried up to his neck in parts that need hardware installed and packaged for shipping, so I cut the rapids back to 75% before he dropped dead on the spot.
So far I'm pretty impressed with the machine overall but have a lot to learn.
