Okuma Genos L300 Myw - anybody have one?

I've got an L300M. live tools with C no Y, and a tailstock no subspindle. Mine is a good machine though, no issues so far.

Make them give you the separate rapid override knob though, pita if you don't have one.

I also have a Captain L370BBMW. I've had that since 08 with no major problems. We'll had to put a set of subspindle bearings in it but that was my fault. Didn't have the sub turning when it was getting blasted by coolant while working on the main. The labryinth doesn't work unless it's spinning and the bearings got contaminated with coolant. Expensive lesson. :)

I have a L300MW. No Y axis. It gets ran hard every day for one shift. It has been over 2 years now without a single issue. Yeah there are faster machines out there but for the money it has been great!

hello edster / please, why do you need the rapid override knob ?

I'm not edster, but some people prefer it. It's nice sometimes to leave the rapid, OR feed at 0% when you are proving stuff out. When they are combined that isn't easy to do. I would say its more important on a mill, and thats why Okuma mills have both. I've ran lathes both with and without the extra knob, and I wouldn't spend my own money to have one installed. If you are coming from an Okuma mill background, and the sales guy can do it at no cost somehow, why not?
