Default Okuma LB15 threads not repeating

    Hello,
I am running an Okuma LB15 with OSP5000L control. Turning a thread with a program that has ran flawlessly for over a decade. Running fine until it suddenly started cutting horrible threads. Found 0.006" of backlash in the Z ballscrew so we replaced that and zero'ed out the backlash parameter. Now the threads are not repeating. Tailstock end cuts wide peaks with narrow valleys which progress to narrow peaks with wide valleys at the headstock end.

    Three possibilities come to mind:

    1. Bad Z encoder
    2. Spindle running at an RPM different that what the control thinks it is
    3. There is a Pitch Error Compensation parameter somewhere that needs adjusting. Anyone have parameter list for this machine?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.
