I picked up an Okuma MC-4VA and need to get my head around the power requirements for it in my small home shop. It has a 10 h.p. spindle and the tag on the back states “full load current 75 A.” on one line and “Largest Mot. Rate 32/37.5 A.” on another line. I take it the “Mot rate” is the combined draw for all motors? I am leaning towards picking up a 30hp balanced rpc but a 20 hp sure would be a lot easier if it will be enough. I have a 15, 7 ½ and a five now. Anyone got some words of wisdom?

The "mot rate" would just be the spindle current. The FLA would be the combined motor load. I would run it off a 20 hp rpc. It's not very likely you'll be taking a 10 hp cut and nearly stalling all axes simultaneously.
