We have a customer with some largish robots with capacity of 8000 lbs and operating radius of about 9 feet. They were made by a company that is no longer in business and are in need of new controls.
They considered buying new, but no one makes a standard robot of this size and capacity so we are looking at retrofitting.
What kind of RIA considerations are their with respect to safety? We have 4 TUV certified safety engineers on staff and are well acquainted with the HIRA process for machinery, but much less acquainted with the RIA standards for robots.
Is their a good application centric document that might help us ramp to speed quickly?
