I have found a 15x40 Nishimori lathe for sale and am intersted. Problem is I know nothing about them, so I am hoping someone here does.

Never heard of 'Nishimori'.
Many of us judge an unusual machine initially by the layout. Without pics, work envelope or model number, can't examine any design features; spindle & chuck mount, speed and feed ranges, power requirements, potential tooling, a l-ooong list.
Additionally, Nishimori may be a private label from a quality builder. Name brands have loyalty, private labels depend on facts.
